Studio House Rules (Schedule B)

These rules apply to all clients and guests during any booking at AVOLCA Studios. By making a booking, you agree to comply with these rules and to ensure all guests in your party do the same. Failure to comply may result in additional charges under Schedule A, immediate termination of your session, or a ban from future bookings.

Where a session is terminated due to client conduct, AVOLCA Studios will not be liable to provide a refund or credit.

Equipment

Treat all studio equipment with care.

When connecting your laptop to the Apollo interface, audio may play at maximum volume without warning. If this happens, immediately pause playback and restart both the Apollo and your computer before continuing.

Power on equipment in this order: Apollo first → computer second → monitors last. Turn off the Apollo at the end of your session.

Monitor the Focal speakers at all times. The LED must remain green. If it turns red, you are overdriving the speakers — turn them down immediately. Damage caused by red-light levels is your responsibility.

Do not attempt to repair or modify any equipment. Report faults to AVOLCA Studios immediately: email admin@avolca.com (cc studio@avolca.com) with details, and WhatsApp photos of any damage to +44 7900 711314.

Check all equipment at the start of your session. Any pre-existing fault or damage must be reported within the first 30 minutes of your booking. Faults not reported within the first 30 minutes will be assumed to have occurred during your session and will be treated as your responsibility.

You are liable for any damage caused by misuse, negligence, or use of equipment without appropriate guidance.

Timekeeping

Your booking time includes setup, recording, breaks, packing down, and departure. You must exit the studio by your booking end time.

A 15-minute grace period is permitted for packing down and vacating. Remaining beyond the grace period will always incur a charge of one full additional hour at the prevailing hourly rate, as set out in Schedule A.

Repeated overstays may result in a requirement to pre-book additional time for all future sessions.

Food and Drink

Food and drink are permitted in the upstairs area only. Do not bring food or drink into the studio or near any studio equipment.

Any spillages on or near equipment are your responsibility. You will be liable for the full cost of repair or replacement plus an investigation fee, as set out in Schedule A.

Dispose of all rubbish in the bins provided before leaving.

Smoking

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the premises, including inside the studio, communal areas, corridors, stairwells, kitchens, bathrooms, or entrances.

Any fines or costs incurred from local authorities as a result of smoking or vaping on the premises will be passed on to you, as set out in Schedule A.

Guests and Capacity

Maximum occupancy is 10 people in total, including yourself. Guests beyond 10 incur a charge of £10 per person, as set out in Schedule A.

You are responsible for the conduct and safety of all guests throughout your booking.

Bookings may only be made by persons aged 18 or over. Any guest under the age of 18 must be supervised by you as the lead booking holder at all times. You accept full legal responsibility for any minor present during your booking.

AVOLCA Studios does not provide safeguarding or childcare services.

Alcohol

Alcohol may be consumed responsibly during your session. Alcohol must not be consumed near studio equipment. Any behaviour that is disruptive, threatening, or impairs the safety of people or equipment will be treated as a breach of these rules and may result in immediate termination of your session.

Behaviour and Conduct

Behave respectfully towards AVOLCA Studios staff, engineers, neighbours, and other studio users.

Rude, aggressive, threatening, discriminatory, or harassing conduct — by you or any of your guests — is prohibited and will result in immediate termination of your session with no refund or credit, and may result in a permanent ban. Breaking these House Rules may likewise result in your session being ended early with no refund or credit.

Weapons, dangerous items, and unlawful substances are strictly prohibited on the premises.

Keep noise levels within reasonable limits. Do not disturb neighbouring spaces or the local community.

Security and Access

Entry codes or keys provided are for your personal use only and must not be shared. Do not tamper with entry or exit doors or wedge them open. You are responsible for any security incidents resulting from your actions.

Consoles and Entertainment Systems

PlayStations, Nintendo Switches, and other consoles are for in-studio use only during your booking.

Do not log out, delete, or alter pre-installed accounts. No unauthorised downloads, purchases, or subscriptions. Any charges incurred will be passed on to you. Games and accessories must remain in the studio at all times.

You are liable for the full retail replacement cost of any console, controller, or accessory damaged, lost, or rendered inoperable during your booking.

Filming, Photography and Branding

Commercial filming, photography, or live streaming requires prior written consent from AVOLCA Studios.

Unauthorised use of the AVOLCA Studios name, logo, or brand is subject to charge as set out in Schedule A.

Pets

Pets are not permitted on the premises unless expressly agreed in writing in advance. Any agreed pets must be supervised at all times and kept away from studio equipment.

CCTV

CCTV is in operation throughout the premises at all times for the purposes of security, safety, and the protection of people, equipment, and property. CCTV is not used to monitor creative or artistic performance. Footage is retained for up to 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy, unless retention is required in connection with an incident, dispute, insurance claim, or legal matter.
